The first image above was created by an AI image generator and generated as the cover image for our news "Sommerpause 2022". The second image with similar prompt (textual description as starting point for image generation), created with a recent version of Stable Diffusion. The images are now often extremely close to a photo or even indistinguishable from a photo at all. Of course, other styles such as painting and the like can still be generated. The possibilities are almost endless!
Another application is the upscaling of images. What was science fiction just a few years ago and popular in every crime television series is now reality. A few pixels are enough for an AI to create high-resolution images. We also already use this possibility almost every day. After all, not every image material provided meets our high quality standards. Depending on the motif, a fourfold magnification or even more is possible without distorting the image!

The handling of the tool is simple and user-friendly. The installer asks for the number of CUDA-enabled graphics cards present in the computer and automatically creates the necessary entries in the Windows Explorer context menu, as well as an uninstaller that can clean everything up again. After installation, an option appears in the right-click menu of Windows Explorer, allowing you to select the desired graphics card for launching an application. The current version of our graphics card management tool supports applications with .exe, .bat and .ps1 (Powershell) file extensions.
