Reinventing ourselves

Sometimes it's time to let go of the past and reinvent yourself completely. With an outdated website, a relaunch of our company's own website was indispensable. This time, however, we did not only want to renew the website, but also revise the entire appearance of the Internet Agency. While the development of strategies for other companies is our daily bread, the development of a new corporate design for your own company is a much more difficult undertaking! Why "Agency for New Media Karlsruhe", actually?

There are indeed more common terms than "Agency for New Media". For example, we could have called ourselves advertising agency or internet agency. Why did we choose "Agency for New Media Karlsruhe"? At the time 48DESIGN was founded, we stumbled upon statistics saying that one of the most hated professions in Germany was that of advertising professionals, especially "employees of an advertising agency". According to current research, advertising agencies are still appearing in 2019 in various statistics on the prestige of professions. […]

We are DSGVO ready

You've surely heard of it by now: two years ago, the European Union established a so-called "General Data Protection Regulation" (GDPR; in German: Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, DSGVO), which comes into effect on 25 May 2018. In general, it's supposed to better protect personal data. While the intentions are of good nature, it has an enormous effect on all website owners, all of whom will have to take action to comply with the new regulations. 48DESIGN has now updated its own websites and is therefore ready for this deadline. Change of our legal form

The mills of the authorities grind slowly ... but now the change is official: the "Unternehmergesellschaft" (UG) has received an upgrade and 48DESIGN is now a "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" (GmbH). At last, postmen are no longer searching for the doorbell of the basement (UG means "Untergeschoss" in German as well which translates to basement...), and we have a little bit more space on our printed products. We think that it's very appropriate that this change happened in the tenth year of our company history. […]

We swapped city noise for country air

Finally! After six years in the city centre of Karlsruhe, we decided to move to the countryside. After all, what good are big office spaces in the city when creative work is hardly possible due to construction sites, congested roads and the omnipresent noise? But do not worry: many of our customers have never seen us live anyway - some do not even know our voices - because customer contact is mostly digital with us! Thus, nothing changes for you. […]

Yet another year over? Winter break 2017

This year we were able to live up to last year's success - to the point that we neglected our own website a bit. Several projects are waiting to be entered into our portfolio - and unfortunately, we're not allowed to use all of our projects as a reference. With all that work, we actually managed to not post a single news item this year. Shame on us! So, now indeed follows the announcement for the 2017 winter break. Between December 25, 2017 and January 5, 2018 we'll not be available by phone and only to a limited extent by email. […]

Winter break 2016

We would like to inform our customers and business partners in a timely manner that we are taking a winter break from December 12, 2016 to January 1, 2017, and that we can not be reached by phone and only limited via e-mail during this period of time. We therefore ask you to communicate urgent requests for change within the next two weeks. We are looking forward to exciting projects together with you in the new year! Until then, we wish you and your families a beautiful Advent season, merry holidays and a smooth transition to the new year.

Technical overhaul of our own Website

Even if at first sight nothing has changed: In the background, we completely revised our website. Page loading speed has been significantly increased and all graphics have been optimised for high-definition displays like those in smartphones and tablets (e.g. „retina display“). For that, we are using the relatively new SVG technology. Naturally, we also make these techniques available to our customers and they have already been used in customer projects for some time.
